Biogeochemical Exchange Processes at the Sea-Ice Interfaces (BEPSII)

BEPSII SEA ICE SCHOOL flyer webThis is the first announcement of the BEPSII Sea ice School 2022 at Chars Station, Cambridge Bay, Canada (14-23 May 2022).
The school open for Early Career Scientists (preferably PhD students), but Master students and early Post-Docs are also eligible to apply.
Lectures, field and lab work will address topics such as
  • basic sea-ice and snow physics
  • sea-ice optics
  • sea-ice biogeochemistry
  • gas fluxes at the interfaces
  • sea-ice carbon cycle
  • sea-ice primary production
  • sea-ice biogeochemical modelling
  • land-sea-ice-ocean itneractions
  • life in the north
Further information and applications can be made through here.
The deadline for school and funding application is 11 March 2022.

BEPSII is a network of sea ice scientists exploring biogeochemical exchanges at sea ice interfaces. BEPSII gathers sea ice biogeochemists and biologists, either experimentalists or modellers. The school is supported by POLAR KNOWLEDGE CANADA, SCAR, CLIC, IASC and NSF in collaboration with SOLAS and ECV-ice SCOR working group.
