The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research is pleased to announce the 2024 SCAR Fellowship recipients. For this round we will be awarding five Fellowships in total.
SCAR would like to thank the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation for their continued support. In 2024, as in 2023, additional funding is being provided by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation through the Polar Initiative.
We also acknowledge the support from the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI) through the Sejong Fellowship. The Fellowship supports recipients from under-represented groups in the SCAR community.
Congratulations to the 2024 SCAR Fellows!

For the 2024 Fellowships we received 62 applications with the following breakdown by gender, region and discipline:
SCAR has been offering scientific fellowships to early career scientists since 2003. The Fellowships support the scientific goals of SCAR, enabling the early career researchers to join a project team from another country, opening up new opportunities and often creating research partnerships that last many years and over many Antarctic research seasons.
Since launching the scientific fellowships to early career scientists, 89 SCAR Fellowships have been awarded.
Applications for the 2025 SCAR Fellowships will open later this year.
