This special issue brings two introductory and 20 original research articles on several aspects of Northern Antarctic Peninsula (NAP) oceanography, ranging from classical oceanography, air-sea-ice interactions and ocean biogeochemistry to marine mammals’ biology and ecology.  Most of the articles explore the extensive dataset obtained through the activities of the Brazilian Grupo de Oceanografia de Altas Latitudes (Brazilian High Latitude Oceanography Group-GOAL) in the area during the last 15 years.
