Andrew investigates Antarctica’s ecosystems, using ground-based observations, UAVs and satellites to monitor and predict changes on a continental scale. They are incorporating remote sensing observations into climate models to explore how climate change may effect Antarctica’s biosphere.

Current research projects / interests:

  • Snow algal ecology
  • Antarctic vegetation remote observation
  • Nutrient biogeochemistry
  • Remote monitoring of biology and the human footprint in Antarctica
  • Climate/ecosystem couplings

Keywords: Ecology; snow algae; biogeochemistry; remote sensing; earth observation;
