On behalf of SCAR’s action group on public engagement with Antarctic research (otherwise known as PEAR), we would like to invite you to join us for the first ever PEAR forum, which will be held online on the 11th September 2024.
About the PEAR forum
The PEAR forum if a series of online networking events for people doing work or research relating to Antarctic public engagement. We aim to hold one session every two months and will rotate time zones each session to ensure that no one misses out. Each forum will focus on a different aspect of engagement, and we hope to cover a variety of topics, including:
- Interdisciplinary approaches to public engagement– who, how, and why?
- Antarctica in the classroom
- Strategies for resourcing public engagement
- Public engagement with the Antarctic Treaty System
What to expect at the first forum
Pear forum #1 will take place via zoom at 11am (UTC) on the 11th September. This first forum will focus on general networking, so come along, tell us about your work, and help us select future topics!
