The kickoff meeting (KOM) of SCAR’s AGATA Programme Planning Group will be held on 12 July 2023 from 12:00 to 13:30 CEST as a side event of the IUGG General Assembly, offering online attendance.
AGATA stands for Antarctic Geospace and ATmospheric reseArch, and is a coordinated, worldwide effort to monitor, investigate and better understand the physics of the polar atmosphere and the impact of the Sun-Earth interactions on the polar regions.
During the kickoff meeting we will present in detail the scope of AGATA and report on coordinated efforts we have taken so far to develop the programme. Thanks to the support provided by SCAR and SCOSTEP/PRESTO, Early Career Scientists will also present their recent results and expectations related to AGATA. Finally, a slot will be dedicated to exchange ideas and contribute to the programme development, which will hopefully shape and further develop the geospace and atmospheric research in Antarctica in the years to come.
We invite you to register, choosing between on-site or virtual participation, before the 2nd June 2023 via the online registration form.
More information will be provided later to the registered participants.
