The BEPSII Expert Group (Biogeochemical Exchange Processes at the Sea-Ice Interfaces) recently issued an Arctic Policy Brief, “Effective Arctic climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies require consideration of biogeochemical and ecological impacts of sea-ice decline”.
Issued ahead of the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, the policy brief summarizes three recent papers on climate change and Arctic sea-ice biogeochemistry, sea-ice ecosystems and ecosystem services (Arctic + Antarctic), and sea-ice geoengineering impacts on sea-ice biogeochemistry (references are in the policy brief).
