New information on the XIII International Symposium on Antarctic Earth Sciences (ISAES 2019) has been issued by the ISAES 2019 Secretariat in the form of a new electronic direct mail. It includes full details of the pre- and post-symposium field trips and how to apply, plus updated information on symposium registration, reminders about side meetings and booking accommodation, and links to relevant sections of the symposium website in one handy document (see the link below).
XIII ISAES 2019 will be held from 22-26 July 2019 at the Songdo Convensia in Incheon, Republic of Korea. The symposium aims to bring together Antarctic earth scientists from different areas in order to gather and highlight their outstanding expertise and ideas.
Three varied and extended field trips are being organised to fascinating geological sites in Korea:
- Geology and Tectonics of the Gyeonggi Marginal Belt
- A Journey to Cretaceous Period in Korea
- Cenozoic Volcanism in Jeju Island
The cost of each fully-guided trip includes transport, accommodation, breakfast and lunch, and any admission fees. Detailed descriptions, itineraries and application forms are available from the Field Trip section of the symposium website. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2019.
Standard registration is available from now until 30 June. If you haven’t yet booked your accommodation, you are encouraged to do so. Special rates for official hotels will end on 30 June, or on 31 May for the dormitory of Yeonsei University.
Side meeting applications are open until 20 May so there is still time to organise a meeting or small workshop for your group.
