Rose Leeger, a member of the SCAR Action Group on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and APECS DEI representative, attended the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in Washington D.C. this past December. She presented on “Building Equitable and Inclusive Antarctic Research: The Role of the Scientific Commitee on Antarctic Research” highlighting the role the SCAR EDI AG has during its last term as well as her own experiences of how the action group has helped create a safe and welcoming community for her.
The feedback from the talk was supportive and empowered, and many were excited to see the continued work from the SCAR EDI AG in the future.
