The deadline for applications for the SCAR Fellowships scheme 2022 is approaching.
Applications for the 2022 Fellowships close on 31st August.
The SCAR Fellowship Programme is designed to encourage the active involvement of early-career researchers in furthering our understanding of Antarctica. The Fellowships enable early-career researchers to join a project team from another country, opening up new opportunities and often creating partnerships that last many years and over many Antarctic research seasons.
In 2022, there will again be flexibiity to reflect any continuing impact from Covid19-related travel restrictions. Applicants are able to propose partly or entirely remote Fellowships and there will be flexibility with the timing of the awards, so that they may be delayed until the planned travel is possible.
Also in 2022, additional funding has been provided by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation through the Polar Initiative. In order to support our colleagues from Ukraine, the SCAR Executive Committee has reserved one of the 2022 SCAR Fellowship awards, to be awarded to an applicant from Ukraine.
