We are in full preparation of the 2025 PALSEA meeting that will take place in Venice (Italy) June 19th-21th 2025.
The workshop is organized in the frame of the scientific symposium “Living on the water” which will be hosted by the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and will include three international events focused on sea-level change.

- 19-21st June: PALSEA-ONSEA Workshop “ Warmer coasts in a warming world: predictions, processes, and proxies, from past to present”
The workshop will close a week of scientific events focused on climate and sea-level changes. Through keynotes, scientific sessions, and the fieldtrip along the northeastern Italian coasts, participants will have the chance to engage with leading experts, exchange insights, and forge new partnerships. Applications for travel support
There are funds set aside for travel support for Early-Career Researchers (ECRs) and Researchers from Developing Countries (DCRs). These are available to attend all the events of the scientific symposium “Living on the water”. Funding support will include will include a waiver of registration fees, accommodation costs, and additional support based on a combination of considerations, including merit, need, and the availability of funds.
Applications for funding support are now open and must be submitted no later than 15 of March 23:59 (UTC).
Please see the attached circular and fill out the online form (same one as for registration; click the link at the bottom of the second page or here).
There is no charge for abstract submission, but registration and attendance at the conference will be conditional upon the attendee presenting an abstract. This abstract requirement may be waived on a case-by-case basis for more senior researchers whose students or other advisees are already presenting abstracts at the meeting. This exception is made to encourage the active participation of ECRs (including students) and to disincentivize senior researchers from presenting the work of their advisees. Students’ and ECRs’ work should be presented by the students and ECRs who have actually done the work — at this PALSEA meeting, we will strongly encourage this. There is a limit of two abstracts per submitting author, and each registration will cover a maximum of two abstracts, though there are no requirements that the presenting author must be the first author or the same as the submitting author.
