Tim Spedding
Australian Antarctic Division
Tim Spedding is involved in a mixture of research and applied science that focuses on reducing the impact that humans have on our polar regions. This involves the assessment and clean-up of legacy and contemporary contaminated sites in the Arctic and Antarctic.
As part of the Australian Antarctic Program, his emphasis has been on the research and application of soil and water assessment and remediation technologies at sites in the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic affected by fuel spills, heavy metals and mixed contaminant sites. His work is very applied, with a direct link from science to policy, through to the full scale clean-up of contaminated sites in the Antarctic.
Current research projects / interests:
- Fuel Spill Remediation – Australian Antarctic Program,
- A Cleaner Antarctica – Australian Antarctic Program
