Sarp Ergüven

Nasıh Sarp Ergüven is a lecturer at the Ankara University Faculty of Law (Türkiye). He holds a Ph.D. degree in the field of Public International Law at Ankara University Social Sciences Institute Public Law Department. He has been teaching Public International Law and Law of the Sea since 2018 in the Ankara University Faculty of Law. He also works as a researcher at the Ankara University Research Center of the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM).

Dr. Ergüven contributed to the National Polar Science Program of Türkiye (2018-2022), which brought together 120 Turkish Scientists from 36 institutions in 2017. Since then he has served as the Legal Adviser for both the Turkish Delegation to the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) and the Turkish Polar Research Institute (PRI), which was established under the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK) in November 2019.

Dr. Ergüven is interested in every aspect of international law related to the Polar Regions. He has several publications on issues in Polar Law and is currently contributing to a national research project, supported by TUBITAK, as the lead researcher in charge of an analysis of the matters related to Law of the Sea and the Polar Regions.
