Ross Avenell

Ross Avenell is currently completing the coursework component of his Integrated PhD at Edith Cowan University. He is interested in transformational tourism experiences of tourists, travel agents and expedition team members in Antarctica. In addition, Ross is interested in the concept of Antarctic Ambassadorship and the longevity of any transformational change experienced by visitors to the continent. As a new researcher, Ross is yet to publish any research, however he is currently working on an exploratory research project into Polar Travel Agents’ Transformative Experiences of Antarctica. Ross is also an employee of Aurora Expeditions, responsible for expedition sales for the Americas, based in Vancouver, BC and teaches business and tourism at Hanson College.
