Lynda Goldsworthy

Lyn completed a PhD at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania, in 2022, and is now an IMAS Associate. She has been actively involved at the policy level of Antarctic and global high seas issues since 1983. This work has included representing conservation groups, undertaking policy analysis for both government and non-government groups,  presentation of many papers at workshops and conferences, and attendance at multiple Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meetings (ATCMs) and CCAMLR meetings, ATCM minerals negotiations meetings, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change negotiating sessions, and negotiating and operational meetings of the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Arrangement (SIOFA) and the South Pacific Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFM0). She is currently a Member of AFMA’s SouthMAC Advisory Committee (since 2018), served on the Australian government Antarctic Science Advisory Committee (ASAC) for two periods of 8 years each (2000 – 2016) and was a member of the independent performance review panel for SPRFMO (2018). She has also spent many years undertaking organisational governance and program reviews, network analysis, project managing teams and trainings in advocacy.
