Dr Karen Alexander is a Senior Lecturer in the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies and the Centre for Marine Socioecology. She combines human geography and environmental sociology to investigate the interactions between communities/societies and the marine and coastal environment. Karen’s work focuses specifically on commons resource conflict and governance, and she is the author of Conflicts over Marine and Coastal Common Resources.

  • The role of the social sciences in Antarctic studies
