Joanna Burrows

Joanna Burrows is a conservation scientist and PhD candidate at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. Her transdisciplinary PhD research examines the roles and effectiveness of terrestrial Antarctic Specially Protected Areas (ASPAs), in light of the proposed expansion of the ASPA network.
Joanna holds a Bachelor of Science (2013), Graduate Diploma of Education (2014) and Master of Conservation Science (2017). Her prior research focused on conservation decision support for preventing human-wildlife conflicts. Joanna has also worked for the Queensland Government to develop and deliver a variety of environmental policies and programs, and was previously a high-school mathematics, geography and social studies teacher.
