He completed his PhD in 2019 on the impact of volcanism on trace metal biogeochemistry in the Southern Ocean at the University of Tasmania. His current work focuses on the sources, sinks and cycling of micronutrients in the Southern Ocean and their impact on primary productivity.
Current research projects:
- Understanding broad-scale micronutrient cycling in the Southern Ocean
- Analysing the first basin-scale micronutrient time-series
- Mechanisms controlling the bioavailability and utilisation of micronutrients by microbes
