Heather Lynch

Heather Lynch is the Institute for Advanced Computational Sciences Endowed Chair for Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University. Her research is focused on the distribution and abundance of Antarctic seabirds using a combination of direct field surveys and satellite imagery. Lynch is one of the lead developers of the Mapping Application for Penguin Populations and Projected Dynamics (MAPPPD; penguinmap.com), a data portal for penguin census data and models. Lynch received her A.B. in Physics at Princeton University in 2000 and her Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University in 2006.
