Elizabeth Leane is Professor of English at the University of Tasmania. She is interested in cultural responses to Antarctica, both historical and contemporary. Her books include the monographs Antarctica in Fiction (2012) and South Pole: Nature and Culture (2016)and the collection Anthropocene Antarctica (2019), co-edited with Jeff McGee. She is Arts and Culture Editor of The Polar Journal and is currently co-Chief Officer of the SCAR Standing Committee on Humanities and Social Sciences.
