Andrew J. Avery

Andrew J. Avery is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at the University of Kansas. Currently, he is working on a dissertation entitled “World of the Midnight Sun: Antarctica and the British Empire, 1768-Present”, which focuses on how British imperial actors constructed the Antarctic as an imperial and post-imperial space and how Great Britain interacted with other imperial nations and competitors in Antarctica. He previously earned degrees in History from East Tennessee State University and Flagler College, respectively.
