Adele Jackson

Adele is a multi-disciplinary environmental artist interested in the interrelationships between people, places, culture and nature.  Her recent work has focused on Antarctica, inspired by the continent’s cultural, natural, and geopolitical environments: www.adelejackson.org

In 2017, Adele started a PhD at Gateway Antarctica at the University of (NZ). Using qualitative methods her research explores the value of visual artists working in Antarctica. Adele has worked in Antarctica since 2013 where she has held positions including base leader, and field assistant for the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust; and expedition photographer, and nature guide within Antarctic tourism.

Before embarking on Antarctic-focussed work and research, Adele worked as a project manager, freelance artist, and evaluation consultant for government and non-government organisations where she managed public art, community development, education, and environmental projects.
