Last Call: Open Positions on the SOOS SSC
SCOR and SCAR are welcoming nominations to join the SOOS Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) for terms beginning in August 2023. Nominations (including self-nominations) are due by 31 May 2023.

Early Career Position within the OSD CWG
The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and SOOS are looking for an early career professional with an interest in observing system design for the Southern Ocean to join the SOOS Observing System Design (OSD) Capability Working Group (CWG) as APECS representative.
The successful applicant will participate in telecons and meetings, help to take minutes and compile notes, serve as a liaison to APECS, help to prepare newsletter items, and contribute to other activities. Apply by 2 June 2023.

The Southern Ocean Fluxes (SOFLUX) Capability Working Group (CWG) is seeking passionate individuals to drive strategic activities in observing air-sea fluxes.
The SOFLUX working group focuses on coordinating in situ observations, evaluating requirements, integrating with modeling and satellite data, and fostering community communication through newsletters and webinars.

SOFLUX CWG Early Career Position opens soon
The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and SOOS are looking for an early career scientist to join the SOOS Southern Ocean Fluxes (SOFLUX) Capability Working Group (CWG).
SOFLUX interests include fluxes of heat, fresh water, momentum, and gases. The group actively coordinates in situ observations, evaluates requirements, establishes links with modeling and satellite observations, and supports community communication through newsletters and webinars to enhance understanding of air-sea fluxes.
The successful applicant will contribute to telecons and planning discussions, help to coordinate information sharing within the SOFLUX community serving as a liaison to APECS, help to prepare newsletter items, and contribute to other steering committee activities. The call will open soon.

DMSC Membership Call
The SOOS DMSC is inviting membership nominations of professional data management experts, who are affiliated with (inter)national data centres, networks and scientific data programmes.
In the last years the vision and support of the SOOS DMSC has revolutionised Southern Ocean data sharing through products such as SOOSmap and DueSouth/Polardex. The DMSC is also a leader in advocating for management and delivery of Southern Ocean data.
