Yliana Rodriguez

Yliana Rodríguez is an Assistant Professor at Universidad de la República (Uruguay). Yliana holds an undergraduate degree in Linguistics from Universidad de la República, where she was also awarded an MA in Human Sciences for which she focused on South American language contact. She holds a PhD from Leiden University Centre for Linguistics and in the Faculty of Humanities of Universidad de la República. She is currently working in language contact phenomena in Antarctic and subantarctic regions. Yliana is interested in qualitative methodological approaches that overlap different disciplines. She is leading a project on “Place-naming practices in the British Antarctic Territory”. Yliana is curious about other linguists or anthropologists working on similar topics in the Antarctic.
