Stephanie is a final year PhD student in the Department of Linguistics and Gateway Antarctica, Centre for Antarctic Studies and Research, School of Earth and Environment at the University of Canterbury. During her PhD, she has been researching and analysing the rich and uniquely Antarctic vocabulary specifically used at English-speaking Antarctic research stations. She utilised a specifically-designed survey to capture data about former and current Antarctic visitors’ knowledge and usage of this vocabulary. Stephanie was also featured in an early career researcher campaign run by the Royal Society |Te Apārangi called Tūrama: Early Career Researchers Aotearoa.
