Marissa Grunes

Marissa Grunes is a scholar of American literature with a focus on the intersection of environmentalism and architecture in nineteenth-century American culture. She earned her PhD from the English Department at Harvard University, before joining Harvard’s Center for the Environment as an Environmental Fellow. She has published academic and non-academic work on the role of Antarctica in American literature and culture, and is currently at work on a book of environmental and science history for the general public titled Incognita: A Portrait of Antarctica.
