Damien Gildea
Damien is the author of ‘Mountaineering in Antarctica‘ (2010) and The Antarctic Mountaineering Chronology (1998) and has produced two topographical maps of Antarctic mountain areas (Sentinel Range 2007, Livingston Island 2004). He has led eleven expeditions to high mountain areas of Antarctica, primarily for GPS surveying of summits. He has also worked three expeditions as an adventure guide. Damien is the Antarctic correspondent of the American Alpine Journal and Alpinist magazine. He is a graduate of the Australian National University (BA 1990) and the University of Tasmania (GDip ASOS 1991).
