Dr Svenja Halfter works as zooplankton ecologist at NIWA in Wellington, NZ. In 2021, she completed her PhD at IMAS (Australia) on the role of zooplankton in the Biological Carbon Pump in the subantarctic Southern Ocean. Her current work focuses the impact of climate change on sea ice-associated zooplankton in the Ross Sea, as well as on temperate zooplankton around New Zealand.
