The Southern Ocean Observing System (SOOS) is inviting nominations for new members of its Leadership Groups.
The Weddell Sea and Dronning Maud Land (WS-DML) RWG are seeking 2 researchers with interests in the Weddell Sea and Dronning Maud Land, particularly in the research fields of biology, biogeochemistry and sea ice to complement the current leadership and join actively in strategic leadership, planning activities, carry out communication and reporting, and driving the Working Group forward in accordance with the objectives of the SOOS 5-year implementation plan.
The application deadline is September 15, 2020. Appointment shall start in fall 2020, at or shortly after our planned online workshop (20-23 October 2020).

The West Antarctic Peninsula and Scotia Arc (WAPSA) Regional Working Group are inviting nominations for new members of its Leadership Group. Nominations and self-nominations of researchers from all nations undertaking observational research in the WAPSA region will be considered.
If you are interested in nominating or self-nominating for the Leadership Group, please email your CV and a brief Letter of Interest to Kate Hendry, Sian Henley, Oscar Schofield and Juan Hofer by the 30th September 2020.
The Amundsen and Bellingshausen Sector (ABS) Regional Working Group are looking for applications to join the working group leadership. They are seeking applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and disciplines with interests in the Amundsen and Bellingshausen Sea to help up implement the current strategic plan and participate in SOOS activities in accordance with the SOOS 5-year implementation plan.
The application deadline is November 15, 2020. Appointment shall start in spring 2021.
