Nils Vanstappen is a doctoral researcher in international law. His doctoral research concerns the legitimacy of polar governance institutions, in particular in their relation to the international community. As a doctoral researcher, he is connected to the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies from KU Leuven. Nils currently works as a legal adviser in international law at the Directorate-General Environment of the Belgian federal government. In this capacity, he also advises the Belgian delegations to CCAMLR and the ATCM.
