Dr Anton Van de Putte is a marine biologist who obtained a PhD from the KULeuven working on the ecology and evolution of Antarctic fish.

He is currently affiliated with the Royal Belgian Institute for Natural Sciences and The Université Libre de Bruxelles. As the Antarctic regional node manager of OBIS and GBIF he is passionate about making Antarctic and Southern Ocean Biodiversity data publicly available. He is keen on understanding the distribution of Antarctic and Southern Ocean organisms.

As the belgian scientific representative to CCAMLR he is keen on providing scientific support for ecosystem-based management in the Southern Ocean.
