Antarctic change is now fully underway, bringing higher sea levels, more climate extremes, and declining ability to help keep the global climate suitable for us. A comprehensive report by SCAR, released at the 44th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting, emphasises the need for urgent action.
Professor Steven Chown, lead author of the report and immediate SCAR President, recently published an article on LENS and highlights the key messages of the report.
