A workshop on Priority Threat Management of Terrestrial Antarctic Biodiversity will be held during the weekend preceding to the SCAR Biology Symposium.

The primary objective of this workshop is to bring together a diverse range of Antarctic experts from around the world, to identify the management actions available to mitigate threats to Antarctic biodiversity, and quantify the cost, feasibility and benefit of each action. The final outcome will be a prioritisation of these actions based on their benefits and costs. For examples of where this approach has been successfully implemented in other parts of the world see the link below.  The workshop is supported by SCAR, the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Key outputs will be a research article targeted at a high-profile journal and a Working Paper to the CEP in 2018.
